Spandrel panels are frequently being used as an alternative to blockwork separating and gable walls within roofs in all types of residential structures for a number of reasons.
Joinery and carpentry contractors can install spandrel panels after the roof trusses rather than the builder depending upon the timely return of brick layers. Consequently no wet trades are required above roof wallplate level. There is also a quicker build time when using large format spandrel panels rather than small components such as blocks. Additionally there is less time spent working at height therefore reducing the risk of falls from height.
