DTE offer a comprehensive design, manufacture and delivery service for a range of engineered timber floor solutions that cater for the whole construction market...
Floor Cassettes
This prefabricated modular system can be used in residential and non-residential timber construction applications, and can be manufactured using I-Joists, Posi-Joists or traditional joists to meet customer requirements.
Floor cassettes are pre-decked and manufactured with lifting straps for ease of transportation, crane-erection and installation. These factors, along with the instant stability of the working platform and major reduction in the overall project erection time, make floor cassettes a very popular option. The system has been adopted by many of the UK's leading house builders and contractors who have found it provides improved productivity and increased operating safety during the construction process.
I-Joists
I-Joists are lightweight; easy to install; use 50% less raw material than comparable sawn timber; and have excellent strength to weight ratio. I-Joists are factory engineered from low, uniform-moisture timber and virtually eliminate floor movement, splitting and warping.
I-Joists are supplied along with all associated metalwork and timber ancillary materials, including metal connectors, temporary bracing, and any additional timbers.
Posi-Joists
An open web joist is a composite timber and steel joist forming an open web design, which provides the lightness of timber yet with the strength of a steel web. Posi-Joists are lightweight, strong, easy to install and available in long lengths.
The open web design means that using these joists can eliminate costly cutting and drilling when installing services, and allows you to incorporate modern ventilation and heat recycling systems, which can help to achieve higher CSH levels. These joists also provide a very flexible design solution for building contractors - including future modifications.
Our Posi-Joists are supplied along with all associated metalwork and timber ancillary materials, including metal connectors, temporary bracing, and any additional timbers.
LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber)
LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber) is an engineered wood product made out of thin laminates of timber, which are glued and compressed to form a high-strength beam material. These panels have excellent bending resistance, tension and compression properties, and greater load-bearing capacity than other timber materials.
Due to the strength of the panels, LVL can be used in a wide range of applications, including as an alternative to steel beams; as lintels within timber frame construction and as bridles/trimmers/headers/main supporting beams/columns.
As well as being stronger than traditionally available timber grades, LVL is very easy to build with due to reduced twisting, warping and splitting. Furthermore, as LVL is so strong, it can be used for horizontal or vertical solutions, which allows for much greater design possibilities.
Chipboard flooring
Along with our floor joist solutions DTE offer a range of chipboard floor decks to suit the builder's requirements. We can supply either a permanent covered deck that protects the chipboard from damage and moisture ingress during construction, or a temporarily protected deck that has a peel-off film which is removed once the building work is complete, to provide a clean and well presented appearance to the floor.
A chipboard floor deck is recommended for our joist and beam solutions, as it can be exposed to the elements for 42 days during the building process and can be laid during light rain, so reducing weather related stoppages and resulting in speedier completions. It also has a unique anti-slip surface, providing additional foot holding in wet and dry conditions, which is of significant benefit to site safety.
