Design Engineering
We employ more than 30 design technicians who provide detailed designs. These are then forwarded on to the clients for their acceptance prior to manufacture.
DTE provides the full package in terms of timber engineering, with dedicated design technicians and an in-house engineer, fully supported by MiTek and Finnforest, to ensure the best products and service.
Timber Engineering Method
We have various methods of manufacturing our products. The most technically advanced of these products is our hydra press. This fully networked, state of the art, automatic setting and pressing piece of equipment is at the pinnacle of efficient UK truss production.
With typical cycle times of a truss every 50 seconds and set up times of less than 30 seconds, our hydra press gives our customers numerous benefits including efficiency and potential cost savings.
Owing to the quick automated change over times from one profile to the next and by using pre loaded cartridges of connector plates, the Hydra Press is ideal for both short and long runs of trusses making batch sizes no longer a problem.
As DTE's products are manufactured in a controlled factory environment and pre-site sized, you get guaranteed consistent quality and on-site waste is kept to a minimum. Furthermore, as the products are supplied ready for immediate installation, waste from packaging is minimised.
Delivery Services
Our products are made to order and require dimensional and engineering approval prior to manufacture. Following approval we can agree your delivery requirements potentially avoiding the need for you to store bulky items until you are ready to install them.
We are market leaders in Health and Safety systems, in particular for our delivery methods. For the past few years, DTE has been working on a ground-breaking initiative to improve safety in the delivery of trusses.
The system includes Trojan Horse pictoral images, to warn lorry drivers of the dangers associated with offloading trusses, and key to this safer system is that DTE can supply trusses pre-slung with sacrificial/one use slings. The slings enable the trusses to be lifted from the lorry directly onto the roof or storage area, without anyone needing to get onto the back of the lorry and risk falling from height. The system has been acknowledged as best practice by the HSE.
